What's inside

Five things that actually matter before the baby arrives.

01
Talk through the first two weeks
The conversations most couples skip — and why not having them makes everything harder.
02
Build your calm dad reset
What to do before the baby arrives so you can stay steady when things get intense.
03
Know your role in the delivery room
The moment nobody prepares dads for — and how to be ready when it comes.
04
Get your finances anchored
One honest conversation about money that reduces pressure before it arrives.
05
Decide the dad you want to become
The identity shift most dads never think about — until they're already in it.

"Before our second baby, I still felt way less prepared than I thought I should. This gave me language for my role, helped me think ahead, and honestly made me more useful to my wife instead of just anxious in the background. Simple, but it hit the stuff that actually matters."

Why we made this

Two dads. One high-risk pregnancy. An emergency C-section. Here's what we learned.

I'm John, co-founder of Dudela. My wife Viv and I had Mo-Di twins — a high-risk pregnancy that included a cerclage at 20 weeks, months of hospital visits, and our girls Lorelai and Genevieve arriving premature at 34 weeks.

My co-founder Mike's wife Abigail went in with one birth plan and ended up in an emergency C-section. Different story, same feeling: we were not as prepared as we could have been.

We built Dudela because there are thousands of resources for moms and almost nothing that actually prepares dads. This guide is the first step.
